Kristine Fergusson Fall/Winter 2008 Collection
This evening gown was inspired, as you might have guessed, after I had gone to
see the movie Sweeny Todd. I really liked the beat up hate Mrs. Lovett wore and
the stripes that were often used in her gowns. When I was browsing for fabric and found the 100% stripped silk this outfit
was born. The midnight blue silk, accented with the pleated stripes at the neck and peeking beneath the hemline becomes
more dramatic with the trained back view. The trian is accented with vintage rectangular jett beads, as well as one sewn
on the hat. The hat was created from a 1950's piece that I reshaped then added vintage netting, peacock feathers, and a
silk bow that survived from an 1860's bonnet. The pleated 1950's gloves helped to complete the look. More photos of
this gown comming soon!
